Dear CWR Family,
Thank you for your support in 2013 and we’re looking forward to lifting the name of Christ Jesus together in 2014 and forever. We greatly appreciate your partnership with us through your prayers, volunteering, and financial investments at Camp Wilderness Ridge.
Restoring Camp Wilderness Ridge began with rebuilding the volunteer RV area. Loblolly Pines forest rebirth on CWR property began in January 2013 with the planting of saplings over 75 acres and a few months later spreading herbicide around each. God provided rains and sun at just the right times for the seedlings growth, some have died, but many have grown now from 18” to 24”. Natural growing pine trees are up to 3’ to 8’ tall.
What’s next? …glad you asked… to build a metal pavilion structure on the site where our Chapel stood. Money was donated to remove the burnt slab and pour a new 52’ x 72’ slab. We’ll spend about $20,000 to erect a metal pavilion structure which CWR has received from insurance funds. Next we have plans to build under the 16’ tall pavilion men's and women's restrooms with a shower in each, storage area (camp programming equipment, tables, etc.) and a serving kitchen. We need to raise approximately $30,000 to complete that phase. A plumber from Colorado visiting the camp yesterday committed to come back with materials to install the in slab plumbing. Praise God.
What else?...thought you would never ask… the last three years our “Lake” has been plagued with algae and overrun with Lily pads. Last fall we were blessed with a Lake Mower (www.lakemower.com) from a friend of CWR who provided the Lake Mower so now the Lily pads are under control. Now we want to eliminate the algae. Aeration of the lake can do that so we plan to purchase and install a Windmill driven aeration system. (www.outdoorwatersolutions.com). The purchase and install is $3,000. We have a CWR supporter that has committed to match each donation dollar for dollar up to $1,500. You can make a donation through www.wildernessridge.com/donate.
Please pray with us for CWR, as follows:
- Thankful for the rains… please keep them coming.
- Meet financial needs… staff finances (support raising) monthly targets or special gifts, rebuilding camp facilities funds and general funds to meet operation expenses (water, electric, propane, insurance, trash services, staff training, etc.).
- Full retreats/campouts/conference 2014 Calendar and that each will be well attended and impacted Spiritually.

- God’s vision, holiness, wisdom and unity for the CWR Board of Directors and permanent staff so that all decisions and actions bring Christ Jesus honor and glory. Next meeting on February 1, 2014.
- Protection from spiritual attack for all that come to CWR.

Not all participants are Christian camps and even less offer overnight camping experiences but the camp fair is a great outreach where many get to hear about our ministry of Jesus Christ.
