June 10, 2010

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ

Praise God! As of June 1, 2010 all of the Woodsman Camps (boys ages: 7-12) are full. We now have six (6) cabins with 8 campers per cabin, so each week we will serve 48 campers. Both weeks of Young Man Challenge Camps and the Video Camp still have openings. Total for all six weeks of camps right now is 218 campers.

Please pray for CWR Summer Camps

    • For God’s protection and provisions over Camp Wilderness Ridge.
    • For 2010 campers to either respond to invitation of salvation or grow spiritually(take next step).
    • All camp staff to be healthy both physically and spiritually.
    • Summer Camp staff support raising equal 100% of what is needed, approximately $16,000.
    • Specific staffing needs for Woodsman Camps are:
        • Chaplain
        • Servant-Leaders (ages: 18-99) lead a cabin of 8 campers
            • SALT (Servant And Leadership Trainee), ages: 14-17
            • Kitchen – cook assistants
            • Nurse (Current First Aid & CPR certification only requirement)
            • Activity Specialists: archery, fishing, canoeing, craft, woodworking, orienteering, riflery (BB & Pellets), challenge course elements (low & high ropes)
            • Certified Lifeguards
    • Wisdom as staff decisions are made.
    • Our Young Man Challenge Camps (ages: 13-17), two sessions, have openings for campers and staff.
    • For each Young Man Challenge Camps & Video Camp to have the maximum of 48 campers registered by June 18th, as well as staffing needs met.
    • Parents of summer campers to invite unchurched, non-believing, non-Christian friends to send their sons to summer camp with their sons.
    • May we all have a heart for boys and young men that need to hear the Good News (Luke 24: 46-47).
    • Summer Camp Scholarships – Historically about 30% of campers need some scholarship assistance. Contributions to the Summer Camp Scholarship Fund, the expected need is $12,500, the current balance is $8,000. Please pray for additional contributions to our scholarship needs.

Also, pray for the lawsuit against CWR regarding February 28, 2009 forest fire. The hearing is on July 21.

That the “The Court grant a Motion for Summary Judgment, dismiss the Plaintiffs’ claims and grant Camp Wilderness Ridge any other relief, whether general or special, in law or in equity to which the Court deems Camp Wilderness Ridge is justly entitled.”

May we all bless our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in 2010!

In Him,

Ron Hunt, Camp Director
